Hey, it looks like you're new here! You may want to subscribe to the Stogie'd RSS feed. We're also starting a newsletter soon, and we're taking advance subscribers. Please email us to get on the list. Thanks for visiting!
(UPDATED 12/08/2010 with easier format for suggestions) We’re launching a feature this year that we hope becomes an annual tradition: The 12 Days of Cigar Christmas. It’s really a gift guide. And we need your help; mainly, we need ideas to fill those 12 days.
We’ve also made a few changes to the format, after realizing that we’d be killing ourselves trying to fulfill what we set out to do with the original plan. This should make it easier for people to make suggestions, too. So if you said “I can’t come up with anything; it’s too difficult” after reading the original format, keep going.
Our 12 Days of Cigar Christmas feature will be published in the 12 days leading up to Christmas, not including Christmas Day. That’s so that we’re not giving a gift idea on Christmas Day itself. This may not be the traditional way to do a 12 Days feature package, but we’re all about practicality.*
The gift appearing each day will not be number-dependent; in other words, you won’t have to read about—or suggesting—12 humidifier gel packs, 8 torch lighters-a-lighting, etc. Except for Day 5, of course: “A five-pack of stogies” … you know you just sang that in your head.
We’ll take general ideas; we’ll even look at specific items that can link to a manufacturer’s or retailer’s Web page. Whatever ya got.
The ol’ Stogie’d humidor-slash-cupboard is pretty bare, in terms of stuff to give away, so we can’t turn this into a contest or giveaway. We hope you’re in a “giving” mood, or you want to make a deposit to the Karma bank, etc., with your ideas. You will receive full credit for your idea, though (if you want).
You can either leave your suggestions in the Comments section below, or use our Contact form.
Thanks in advance for your help.
* By the way, did you know that the 12 Days of Christmas actually start the day after Christmas Day, and end on January 6th? I found that out when I Googled something related to the “12 Days” song. Maybe I’ve been under a rock on this one, but it’s true. (Source)
